The Summer Navajo Rug & Indian Art Auction: July 22nd & 23rd
On Friday, July 22, an auction of Indian Art such as pottery, jewelry, baskets, katsina dolls, and paintings was conducted at the Museum. Many items were sold at or near the minimum bid leading to buyers getting excellent values.
On Saturday, July 23rd, the auction focused on a large collection of Navajo Rugs and again prices proved to be very reasonable.
Bruce Burnham from the R.B. Burnham Trading Company in Sanders, Arizona, was the auctioneer.

Saturday, September 3rd was the third edition of the Bizarre Bazaar.
The Bazaar was open from 8 AM until everything was gone. A variety of gently used items were available for purchase including crafts, books, etc.
Donations of anything EXCEPT clothing and large furniture are appreciated for next year’s Bazaar.
A few weavers usually are present to display their creations.
The Southwest Indian Arts Festival – May 28th and 29th, 10 AM to 4 PM
Entertainment included World Champion Hoop Dancer Tony Duncan, his music group Estun-bah, and the Yellowbird Dancers.
Native artists from throughout the Southwest demonstrated and sold their art with Matthew Tafoya, who crafts arrows, moccasins, shields and jewelry, as the featured artist.
The Children’s Craft area featured the Yavapai Prescott Indian Tribe.
A reception was held on January 14, 2012 to open the exhibit, Cultural Connections.
The photos to the right were taken at that reception and highlight some of the sculptures included in the exhibit as well as the artists, Bill Nebeker and Doug Hyde.
