We take great pleasure in inviting you to participate in the
Contemporary Native Arts Festival 
in Prescott, AZ on April 18 and 19, 2020. 

 

The Contemporary Native Arts Festival is hosted by The Smoki Museum of American Indian Art and Culture in partnership with the City of Prescott and the Granite Mountain Gourd Society. We welcome additional sponsors.
 
This family-focused festival will display, demonstrate and sell quality Native creations by                              contemporary Native artists. These will include fine art, music, tattoo art, skateboard design, comic book graphic art, dance, fashion design, spoken word, and more!!!
 
The event will encompass an entire city block for this 2-day festival celebrating today’s Indigenous People and Art!

Saturday, April 18, 2020  Vendors must be checked in by 8AM and set up by 10AM  |  Selling hours 10 – 7
Sunday, April 19, 2020    Selling hours 10 – 5
 
Artist exhibits will be located along North Arizona Avenue. Skateboard artists will be located in front of the skate-park where there will be skating demonstrations. Tattoo artists and fine artists will be located in the Pueblo Building of the museum campus to insure privacy for tattoo artists, and safety for the art. Performances will occur in a band shell on Arizona Avenue, with an Indigenous fashion show, the Mr. and Miss Southwest Two-Spirit pageant, spoken word presentations, musical performances, and dance performances. The contest powwow of the Granite Mountain Gourd Society will be held on the beautifully maintained grass field at Ken Lindley Park.  
                                                                                         

Eligibility 
ALL Native American artists and fine crafts persons are welcome. All work MUST be original in design and concept and created by the artist. NO items made from commercial kits, prefabricated forms or molds may be displayed or sold. Mass-produced and imported items are NOT allowed.
 
Promotion 
Event and artist promotion will take place through extensive local and regional advertising.  This will include TV, radio, newspapers, various community and statewide publications, mailings, social media, and banners.

ADMISSION PRICES

Natives, Smoki Museum Members, and children under 12 years of age are FREE.

Students with ID are $5.  Adults are $7.   |   Seniors (55 +) are $6.
